Project type: Magazine Spreads

Date: Spring 2024

For my Computer Graphics II class, we made 2 full magazine spreads including some collage aspects. I chose to make spreads for Alfred Hitchcock and Joan Jett. I was really excited to make a unique design that fit their artist personality, as they were known as being trailblazers.

For Alfred Hitchcock, I made the design off of his movie “The Birds”. With a sinister yet classic look, a swarm of birds allows the closure of the text to come through. I made the photos black and white to add similarity to the whole design.

For Joan Jett, I added the blue and pink colors with a halftone texture to create a punk rock look. I created a type treatment by hand that looks like TV static, with the chosen colors of blue and pink. The Joan Jett images have color overlays to make both spreads cohesive.
